The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is the principal organ of the United Nations coordinating the economic, social and related work of the UN system. Consultative status enables the Academy to participate in the work of ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, contribute expert analysis, and engage with intergovernmental processes on issues related to information and communication technologies for development.
The Academy is accredited with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), contributing to discussions on trade, technology and development, including the role of information and communication technologies in building digital economies and fostering global partnership for development.
The Academy holds accreditation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), engaging with programmes on education, science, communication and information. This partnership supports the Academy's work in higher education quality, distance learning and the promotion of knowledge societies.
IAS IPT is an associated member of the non-governmental organisation community associated with the UN Department of Global Communications, supporting the dissemination of United Nations information and priorities to the scientific and technological community.
